Lori Putnam
Principal
You may not recognize her name in print, but Lori Putnam is an expert storyteller. Whether as the speechwriter for the president of a nationally renowned university or as the editorial manager for one of the largest providers of online education, Ms. Putnam has collaborated with clients in higher education, technology, retail, and entertainment to capture the public’s imagination, influence stakeholder opinion, and achieve bottom-line results.
Most recently Ms. Putnam served as the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications for Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management. In this role, she propelled the nation’s tenth largest graduate business school into the rarified sphere of the top-ranked MBA programs nationwide and re-engaged its alumni network through a strategic communication campaign that combined direct mail and online marketing with promotional events. She effectively leveraged the turbulent MBA marketplace to position the dean of the Graziadio School as the preeminent thought leader in business education, resulting in national media coverage and unprecedented employee collaboration.
Ms. Putnam has both client and agency experience, and credits this background in helping her to better understand the communication challenges of her clients. She has more than 15 years of marketing and communications experience, and is fluent in a variety of writing styles and communication vehicles including direct mail, email, web, speechwriting, and editorial.
A graduate of the University of Southern California, Ms. Putnam earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism and her master’s degree in Communications Management from the Annenberg School of Communication.
